What is your initial reaction when you have a craving?
Do you find yourself feeling frustrated, like a failure? Do you berate yourself for not having enough willpower? Or maybe you try to ignore it altogether, or reach for a substitute to try to avoid the food you're REALLY craving.
What if there were other ways to deal with cravings?
How often do you feel the need to earn the food you desire?
We are taught that in order to be worthy of eating certain foods, or eating food at all, we should first burn calories, or we should punish ourselves by exercising afterward. There are so many ways in which this concept can undermine our progress if we’re working towards having a healthy and loving relationship with our food and body.
Do you weigh yourself? If not, why is this? If you do, how does the number on the scale impact your day? How does it impact your relationship with food and your body? Perhaps it doesn’t impact it at all. As we’re expanding on the concept of living in relationship with food and our body, your actions- like weighing yourself- impact this also.
On Facebook and Instagram this week I asked the question: If you could wave a magic wand and change anything about your relationship with your food and body, what would that be?
What would that look like for you, and what does it even mean to have a relationship with your food and your body? Today we're exploring this topic and I'd love your thoughts as well!
